“Becker had already published articles in journals pointing out that there was such a thing as an electromagnetic control system in the body and there was such a thing as animals being able to detect electromagnetic signals in nature. I recently listened to a live podcast with substack writer Peter Cowan.

It was hosted by Meredith Oke of the Quantum Biology Collective, and Paul Heroux was on the call. (Rumor has it that it will be posted soon for those who didn’t make it.)

The promo stated; “A single post on X connecting the San Francisco 49ers’ alarming injury rate to the electromagnetic fields generated by a nearby electrical substation exploded to over 22 million views, landed in the Washington Post, and was covered by mainstream media all over the world.”

The interviewer made the point that as the result of Peter’s research and publications on Substack, that “everyone heard about the health concerns with the substation.”

Living in New England Patriot’s country, that has not been my experience at all.

Since Peter launched his stories, I have been casually asking everyone I know if they have heard of the story or if they are following it. (I have also asked if they noticed or understood Bad Bunny’s telephone poles in his Superbowl half time performance.)

Generally speaking, I can clarify that although Peter’s research is ground-breaking, it didn’t make it here across the Mississippi.)

In the pre-Superbowl frenzy, I heard on the radio that the NE Patriots were practicing elsewhere, and not in the California stadium where the health issues were raised, because of the vulnerability of the grass being grown for the game. Turf experts were interviewed.

I am thinking back to the research that Lisa- Martino Taylor conducted as part of her PhD dissertation, about how organizational structures can operate to suppress the flow of information.

And I have also been revisiting the Vatican radio leukemia lawsuit. And I know one truth - there are not many Spleen archetypes/constitutional types playing football, and especially not suited for defense. This tells us a lot.

And the few times when woman (Sarah Fuller, Vanderbuilt, Carli Lloyd) ventured on to the football field, they were not on the defensive line; they were kickers.

All of this is related, and we can readily reclaim these observations as common sense.

Jumping into the Deep End; Football Players Sink Like a Rock

Cornell University in Ithaca is both an Ivy League school and also part of the New York State land grant system. One of Cornell’s fields of study is recreation management, facilities, parks etc. I am not certain how the program stated, (possibly through an endowment) or how widespread it is at other schools, but Cornell requires that students demonstrate basic water competency/safety as a graduation requirement.

While the women’s swim team was practicing in the big pool, in the other small shallow pool, individuals who failed the swim test were attending mandatory swim lessons.

Some were foreign students of all shapes and sizes.

And over-represented were very dense, black men who looked like football players - one of whom could not float if his life depended on it.

Individuals who do not float well do not gravitate towards competitive swimming.

And what qualities make an individual more suited to become a linebacker?

What kinds of predispositions to illnesses and injuries are present in different populations? Let’s think about this.

Are Women Better Equipped to be Guardians of the Safety of the Environment?

I will state a basic observation here: most women have an easier time floating in water than men because they have a different body composition. We can have all kinds of effort from ‘experts’ devoted to trying to deny this, but it does not change the facts.

Women are also far more influenced by environmental factors, for better or for worse.

Environmental Illness

In recent years, electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation from cell phones, Wi-Fi routers, smart meters, and 5G networks has become a serious concern. An ever-increasing number of people, particularly women and children, report symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, insomnia, and cognitive disorders that are now associated with EMF exposure. This new condition is now referred to as electromagnetic hypersensitivity.⁸⁵⁶ Although it has yet to be fully accepted in mainstream medical circles, studies indicate that oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction may underlie the EMF hypersensitivity conditions and these symptoms are biologically plausible.

The Penetrating Flow

Intuitively it seems that a woman carrying a child has a better chance of helping sustain the species if she can readily detect the smell of rotten food. Chinese seers actually identified the pathway that is activated when the body determines whether or not to ingest something, and the production of saliva is one variable involved. Holding an item in bare hands and pausing allows the body to transmit discernment, and many individuals are learning to reclaim this ability, which is highly individualized.

The fact that a medication works at a level deemed effective or safe in a field test for drug authorization has no bearing on whether it is appropriate for an individual. Chinese Medicine in particular is far more advanced than Western Medicine in its understanding of the framework of differing organ pulses. - in the West, inharmonious rather than harmonizing treatments are dismissed as having “side-effects.” Many Westerners are gravitating to healing methods that employ ‘energy testing’ techniques.

AI and data collection has nothing to contribute to the question of individualized care other than possibly offering a bell curve, which would only be useful if the data were not corrupted, or if it is collected in the first place. Without individualized testing, everything is a crap shoot.

The Vatican Lawsuit

At one point in my more-than-decades long endeavor writing about EMF/RF and smart meters, I found an Italian television show about the lawsuit against Vatican radio.

I had heard about the childhood leukemia cases, but up until that point had not heard about the deformities in animals. Even though the show was in Italian, the implications were clear. (If any colleagues have better luck, please be in touch.)

With so much recent focus on RF, I had not remembered that the Vatican lawsuit reportedly focused on magnetic fields.

Watch a presentation regarding the Netherlands ‘ government’s decision to reduce magnetic field exposure to the public, especially for children, by buying out homes under high voltage powerlines and transformer stations (electrical substations in the USA).

Here in the United States, we have YMCAs, senior care and memory care centers, and low-income housing being built directly adjacent to large powerline corridors, also hosting cellphone towers.

Also, “Industry funding can significantly impact EMF health effect study results, as electric power companies have substantial financial interests”

American football players in California, compared to European soccer players, may be concerned to learn:

“The US does not have federal safety limits, as the EPA was defunded decades ago from developing proper safety limits. The often cited ICNIRP and IEEE exposure limits for fields at 60 Hz are 2,000–9,000 milligauss. However, the levels at which epidemiologic studies have reported associations with childhood leukemia are at 3–4 milligauss, thousands of times lower. People living in homes very close to powerlines can be exposed to 3-4 milligauss due to the proximity, and it is perfectly legal. No laws have been broken, yet no laws exist.”

The Spleen

The chiropractor/cranial sacral expert who treats me for longstanding issues related to head injuries/concussions mentioned to me that physicians now practicing had exactly one page in their medical education devoted to the spleen. They know that people can live without it, but nothing about what it does regarding electromagnetic fields.

Some individuals have a vague idea that the Spleen is involved somehow with the blood. Does this hold any implications for menses, or immunity via the white blood cells?

And better yet, understanding the Spleen’s role from the perspective of Chinese Medicine may provide another framework for revisiting the 49er’s football injuries….along with all of the Yin meridians that run along the inside of the legs, including Kidney and Liver too.

The “Footbone is Connected to the Leg Bone” - (childhood song) but should the 49’s Football Field be Connected to the Substation?

If a school. and not a football field, were built next to the substation in California, what might we see? The same kinds of joint injuries seen in the male world-class athletes? or something else?

What if the practice field was used by women athletes?

David Carpenter, MD, Director of the Institute for Health and the Environment at the University at Albany, published a review of the research showing that the source of funding affects study findings.

“The evidence that magnetic fields increase the risk of cancer is neither inconsistent nor inconclusive. Furthermore, adults are also at risk, not just children, and there is strong evidence for cancers in addition to leukemia, particularly brain and breast cancer.”

Should the fact that childhood leukemia now offers better treatment outcomes be measured as progress?

Football Player Harm and Childhood Leukemia and Environmental Sensitivities May Be in Understood via the Lens of the Spleen as within the Same Continuum as Electromagnetic Poisoning,

and Animal Studies, Although Instructive, Will Never Get Us Where We Need to Go

As the Chinese seers understood and quantified, under normal conditions, the Spleen is the keeper of time, responsible for the distribution of chi or qi within the organism.

For example, digestive chi via the alimentary canal is not usually present at night, for example from 1 to 3 pm when activities of the Liver are dominating. The digestive cycle can easily be disrupted by eating at inauspicious times or eating foods not in alignment with the seasons.

The cycle of activity vs rest and digest is choreographed by the angle of the sun’s rays in alignment with the cosmic current. If we don’t safeguard that essential relationship, out lifeforce is being distorted. This discernment is about far more than just walking outside at dawn and dusk to continuously harmonize with the changing light.

It necessitates dealing with far outdated policies for all infrastructure.

If Spleen also controls the cycle of growth in the developing child, and the Spleen’s subtle relationship with the cosmic current is decimated by the need to defend against external artificial, bioactive manmade frequencies, many things can apparently go wrong.

This even includes low “t’ (testosterone) in adult men, now the subject of ad campaigns, but also fertility. The ability to generate our own healthy balance of hormones is directly tied to age, and therefore to time itself.

Many parties were involved in portraying the epidemic of injuries in women, caused directly by smart meters, as a mental health issue.

This shows that the outcomes of football games can have a real impact on people’s lives off the field. It’s important for fans, teams, and communities to recognize these patterns and work together to raise awareness and prevent domestic violence from happening, especially during football season.”

Whether we want to admit it or not, the football saga also relates to the more obscured and denigrated but related question “How does a polluted EMF/RF environment create neurological symptoms and harm in women and children?” We haven’t been especially attuned to the neurological harm that has been reported by many women, and the emerging research, including earlier onset of dementias, and skyrocketing death rates for neurological illnesses in the United States compared to other Western countries. (A wave of reported harm coincided with the installation of smart meters for a “smart grid.” But don’t look for any data, because he who collects the data controls the dialogue.)

Electromagnetic Poisoning is Domestic Violence

I’ll say it more clearly. Electromagnetic poisoning is a form of Domestic Violence.

It is perpetuating decades-long discrimination/marginalization against women in the dominant health care system.

This now extends to industry and regulators continuing to test cellphone safety on a jello-filled dummy head that represents a male military recruit with a head filled with jello.

It is domestic, because smart meters are now generating damaging fields within the home, making bedrooms and biologizes unsuitable for rest and digest. Home router/modems are acting as undisclosed hotspots. The federal government is fast tracking more infrastructure. This is a runaway train.

And all of the technology is contributing to the finalization of a control grid. Slowdowns, whether from tariffs, war, factory fires, or oil prices are not slowing down the rapid installation of data centers needed to facilitate the 6G and AI - in the same way that the pandemic lockdowns both activated the public to want more connectivity, and distracted communities being subjected to new towers and antennas. (Ex. Pittsfield MA)

Football Players Can Take a Stand, the Right One

It is unclear how the National Football League will respond to the injuries of its players, but here is an invitation to the players, and especially retired players.

Take a stand against both the newer form of domestic violence in households, and the risks to the players themselves. Question the science. Ask for independent experts to have an equal voice. Be willing to at least hold the questions. There are many ready, willing, and able to stand with you.

Football players have mothers, too.

It could be the most beautiful Mother’s Day tribute ever, for the football community itself to protect vulnerable women and children, and the nature environment as well. To the league: Take the High Road. Be on the right side of history.

A note to Bad Bunny fans: The United States can’t provide Puerto Rico with a safe electric grid until they deal with their regulatory capture, inadequate engineering, and illogical and unsafe exposure guidelines, including but not limited to ground current and dirty electricity. Ask independent experts. Maybe ask the Netherlands about the magnetic fields too? Do soccer players love their mothers? How can we help?

I was looking for some lost links about the Vatican radio lawsuit, which younger generations may not be aware of. I had not remembered that the court case involved magnetic fields, but was thinking of the families/mothers that lost young children as we apporach mother’s day.. “Nineteen children living at a distance of 12 km or less from the antennas died from leukemia or lymphoma between 1980 and 2003.”

We should have already figured out the magnetic fields/health issue, decades ago.

I am grateful this weekend for all of the many mothers and grandmothers, everywhere, who are working in their own ways to address the EMF/RF issues - including Godelieve and Sonia.

Independent Catholic News reported: Vatican Radio found guilty of polluting the airwaves

Cardinal Roberto Tucci and Father Pasquale Borgomeo who head Vatican Radio, received ten-day suspended jail sentence on Wednesday, for polluting the atmosphere with powerful electromagnetic waves.
An Italian court also ordered them to pay damages and court costs.
Two scientific studies suggest a field of Vatican Radio broadcasting antennas north of Rome may have caused high rates of cancer in the area. The first, in 2001, found that magnetic fields around the transmitters were much higher than normal limits allow. The giant masts beam programmes worldwide in 40 languages. A first trial was stopped in 2002 when a judge ruled that Italy had no jurisdiction over the station because it was part of Vatican City, an independent sovereign state. That decision was later overturned and Cardinal Tucci, the station’s president, and Rev Borgomeo, its director general, went back on trial. Environmentalists and local community groups have welcomed the verdict. Some residents complained the transmissions were so strong they could hear radio broadcasts through their domestic lamps. But programme director Rev Federico Lombardi said he was shocked by the court’s decision as he understood the emissions had been in line with accords between Italy and the Vatican. The level of damages payable by the defendants will be set by a civil arbitration body and could run into many millions of euros. Vatican Radio plans to appeal.

I had not remembered that the Vatican case reportedly referenced magnetic fields, which I found fascinating given Peter Cowan’s recent research on soft-tissue/orthopedic injuries in NFL football players (the San Francisco 49ers.

From The M+G+R Foundation Vatican Radio Convicted A Time Line A 2001 investigation by Italy's environment ministry showed that magnetic fields in the area were six times more powerful than allowed, while Rome's Lazio region estimated that the rate of deaths from leukaemia among children in the Cesano area was three times higher than in adjoining areas. [] The new 300-page research report, by a team at Milan's National Tumor Institute led by Andrea Micheli, supports the claim of Cesano residents: Nineteen children living at a distance of 12 km or less from the antennas died from leukemia or lymphoma between 1980 and 2003, a figure higher than in control groups in other parts of the country.

I had seen images of the animals that experienced harm via the Vatican radio lawsuit and also a news video, but it has disappeared from easy access via the internet. Nonetheless these issues will not go away. How many sports commentators reflected thoughtfully on the issues raised, vs. voicing outright dismissal? Please follow and support Peter’s efforts.

A systematic review pointing to evidence that RF radiation causes cancer in animals has captured the world’s attention.

The Microwave News story mentioned below discusses the widespread interest in the WHO systematic review of experimental cancer studies of RF exposure in lab animals by Mevissen et al. (2025).
Although the study was criticized by members of ICNIRP, it has been favorably reviewed by ICBE-EMF:
“Others have endorsed Mevissen findings. Earlier this year, Igor Belyaev and Suleyman Dasdag, two members of the ICBE-EMF, supported Mevissen’s review in a letter to the editor of the journal. (ICBE-EMF was set up a few years ago to counter ICNIRP.)
The Mevissen paper generated a stir earlier this year —too late to have any bearing on the 2025 download numbers— when she told a Swiss journalist that the WHO had tried to manipulate the work of her team, in an apparent effort to tone down the stated cancer risk. Last fall, the ICBE-EMF offered a scathing critique of the WHO’s RF systematic review program in the journal Environmental Health. See: ‘WHO Gets an ‘F’ on RF.‘”
In our “scathing critique of the WHO’s RF systematic review program,” ICBE-EMF concluded that “the reviews of experimental studies on cancer and on reproductive toxicity provide sufficient information for public health agencies to reevaluate current exposure guidelines and promote risk-reducing recommendations.” And in our most recent paper, we followed up these two WHO systematic reviews with a peer-reviewed study, titled “Exposure limits to radiofrequency EMF do not account for cancer risk or reproductive toxicity assessed from data in experimental animals.”

“Taking results from a $30 million U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP) cancer study, the researchers applied standard procedures developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and found that current RFR exposure limits are at least 200 times too high to protect us from cancer risk with 8 hours per day of exposure. AI: The two scientists most central to building modern AI are warning it could cause human extinction.

BROADBAND: POTS AND PANS Millimeter Wave Broadband For those who follow everything about broadband speeds, Ookla published a recent article talking about the deployment of millimeter wave spectrum in U.S. cellular networks. You might remember the big burst of marketing in 2000 when Verizon commercials bragged about gigabit speeds on cellphones. These fast speeds were enabled by millimeter wave spectrum that had been deployed at the time in a handful of urban business districts. At the time, Verizon told investors that millimeter wave was going to be the future of cellular, and that cellular broadband was going to be able to compete head-on with cable and fiber networks. They had plans on the drawing board to deploy the technology deep in neighborhoods. As a reminder, millimeter wave spectrum uses much higher frequencies than are normally used for cellular service. []

RootMetrics found millimeter wave speed test connections mostly within 500 feet of a transmitter, even though the spectrum can theoretically carry for a half mile. That short distance limits the use of the spectrum to high traffic areas where the extra spectrum can help relieve pressure on the other cellular spectrum bands. In case you’re wondering, most high-end cellphones manufactured since about 2001 include the ability to receive the millimeter wave spectrum. Most of the rest of the world, other than South Korea, never activated millimeter wave spectrum in networks or cellphones.

But it’s there, most notably in private networks. Instructions:

1) No children will be screened this time around, but are welcome to come & hang out! They had issues with the research board accepting the parent’s signing for the children.

2) We will have a fruit tray, but you may want to bring your own lunch or snacks while you wait. We have a walking trail around the farm!

3) AVOID exposure to WiFi the best you can! Turn off your cell phones before you come––as they will not be allowed in the house during the research. Print driving directions before you head out.

About the procedure:

There will be an ultrasound exam on each person as they come in. They will need to hang out for 90 minutes to go back to normal if they were in rouleaux (thickened blood). Then, each person will be scanned again, have an exposure to either a cellphone or a sham, and then another ultrasound. They will need to wait around for another 90 minutes. Each person will have to be on site for a total of 3 hours. In order to get a sufficient number of people studied, participants will be staggered every 15 minutes and 10 people should be able to complete this process in 3-1/2 hours. Because it is much more time consuming than the first time around, each participant will be given $50 for their time!

ACHES is creating the paper trail of who knew what when, and to enable local councils not to approve mast applications (with implications for ICNIRP)

5. Exclusion zones refer to the positioning of masts at a safer distance from residents, schools, hospitals etc., which are appropriate for 4G because the energy is isotropic so it drops off in intensity over relatively short distances. This characteristic does not apply to non-isotropic (5G) radiation. Ericsson, which manufactures 5G antennas, has clarified: “The size of the exclusion zone makes 5G network roll-out a major problem or impossible.” (From a presentation "Impact of EMF limits on 5G network roll-out", ITU Workshop on 5G, EMF & Health, Warsaw, December 5 2017.). To create an exclusion zone that is compliant at its border with the ICNIRP guideline of 1mW/cm 2 could require such a huge zone that it could make it impossible to roll-out 5G due to its non-isotropic nature.

6. An ICNIRP certificate is insufficient to verify whether the power output from any mast is within ICNIRP guidelines, because such certificates do not provide the antenna design details, the power intensity and power drop-off with distance of the 5G apparatus. In the absence of this information any application should be refused. Otherwise the council will not know whether the radiation at the boundary of the exclusion zone is ICNIRP compliant. This letter has been sent to all UK local planning authorities, demonstrating that they will have full knowledge of circumstance in this critical issue.

7. In a recent judicial review court case, Judge Jarman held that Cheltenham Borough Council (CBC) was in error because the council had not considered people with metal implants (including pacemakers, replacement joints, mesh, dental amalgam fillings, and other implants) who fall outside the ICNIRP purview. The ICNIRP guidance specifically excludes such individuals from the scope of their guidance—the very guidance that councils rely on. The Court of Appeal dismissed CBC’s attempt to overturn the Jarman ruling.

8. In the light of the Jarman ruling, residents should be able to inform a given council that their safety falls outside the ICNIRP guidance because they have metal devices/implants in their body. Nokia, which is involved in the supply of 5G antennae, stated that a single 5G mast can emit radiation over hundreds of square miles. Owing to the colossal reach of non-isotropic 5G radiated beams, as Ericsson noted, all residents within a council’s boundary should be included in the consultation.

12. 4G exclusion zones would need to be indicated in the consultation, under the Gunning Principles. Exclusion zones for 5G cannot be ascertained without full knowledge of the antenna designs for the reasons set out above. Castle Point Borough Council has noted the CBC judicial review case (cited above), and also referenced exclusion zones, in their local plan submission.

CHILDREN SOCIAL MEDIA: Oligarch Watch The Zuckerberg Rules In an extraordinary April 24 legal filing, lawyers for Meta said that Zuckerberg would testify at the Breathitt trial but, after that, all other plaintiffs in the MDL should be prohibited from calling him as a witness at any future trial. Moving forward, other plaintiffs could play a videotape of his previous testimony. This was necessary, according to Meta’s lawyers, to avoid “the burdens to Meta of having its top executive repeatedly called to testify.”
The filing stresses that Zuckerberg is “the Chief Executive of one of the country’s largest companies” and calling him to testify more than once about claims that his company harmed children is akin to “abuse or harassment.” []Meta’s ad games
Meta is also attempting to use its wealth and power to tilt the playing field outside of the courtroom. In April, Axios reported that Meta “began removing advertisements from attorneys who were seeking clients that claim to have been harmed by social media while under the age of 18.”
Meta admitted it was restricting ads on its platform to prevent plaintiffs from filing additional lawsuits. “We’re actively defending ourselves against these lawsuits and are removing ads that attempt to recruit plaintiffs for them,” a company spokesperson told Axios. “We will not allow trial lawyers to profit from our platforms while simultaneously claiming they are harmful.”
Meanwhile, ahead of the K.G.M. trial, Meta “paid for thousands of television commercials to promote its safety work with teens.” According to data collected by the Tech Oversight Project, the ads ran more than 3,500 times on television between November 2025 and February 2026. The company declined to share how much it spent on the ads — but it was considerable. Data from the firm AdImpact shows just one of the ads cost an estimated $700,000.

Schools across the U.S. have sharply restricted student use of phones during the school day. We evaluate one type of restriction—lockable phone pouches—using nationwide data combining large-scale surveys, GPS pings, standardized test scores, and school administrative records, along with sales records from the largest pouch provider. Using a staggered difference-in-differences design, we find that pouch adoption substantially reduces phone use as measured by GPS pings and teacher reports. In the first year after adoption, disciplinary incidents increase and student subjective well-being falls, consistent with short-term disruption. However, effects on well-being become positive in later years and disciplinary effects fade. For academic achievement, average effects on test scores are consistently close to zero. High schools see modest positive effects, particularly in math, while middle schools see small negative effects. We find little evidence of effects on school attendance, self-reported classroom attention, or perceived online bullying.

Conclusion Phone restrictions in schools have become increasingly common in the United States and around the world, motivated by concerns that constant access to digital devices may un- dermine learning, attention, and student well-being. We study a particularly well-defined and rapidly expanding form of restriction—lockable phone pouches that physically prevent students from accessing their devices during the school day.
Using nationwide data and a staggered difference-in-differences design, we find that the adoption of lockable pouches substantially reduces in-school phone activity as measured by independent GPS data and teacher reports. These effects are large and persistent, indicating that lockable pouches meaningfully tighten phone access relative to prevailing alternatives. We find that adopting lockable phone pouches appears to generate some short-run disruption to the school environment. Disciplinary incidents increase and student-reported subjective well-being declines in the year of implementation, consistent with adjustment costs as schools and students adapt to the new restriction. Over time, however, disciplinary impacts fade and well-being rebounds, becoming positive in subsequent years. Average effects on standardized test scores are close to zero and precisely estimated, with similarly small and null effects on attendance, classroom attention, and perceived online bullying. While the average academic effects mask interesting heterogeneity—modest positive effects in high schools and small negative effects in middle schools—the magnitudes are relatively small in both settings.
Our study leaves several questions for future research. We observe outcomes for at most three years beyond adoption, so longer-run effects remain an open question. We also focus on one specific and well-defined implementation design. Other forms of phone restrictions— particularly those that rely more heavily on classroom-level discretion or that limit access only during instructional time—may operate differently. Evaluating the longer-run impacts of phone restrictions and comparing alternative policy designs are important priorities as schools continue to experiment with approaches to managing digital access. https://www.nber.org/papers/w35132

Case in Borgofranco d’Ivrea shows how fear of electromagnetic radiation led schools to switch wireless connection for Ethernet cables and opened debate on technology, child health, and public decisions influenced by the internet
Mayor orders wireless network to be turned off in municipal schools due to fear of electromagnetic radiation in children. The decision took place in Borgofranco d’Ivrea, an Italian city in the Piedmont region, and led the city hall to replace the wireless connection with Ethernet cables.
The investigation was published by International Business Times, an international news portal. The case draws attention because a simple change within municipal schools became an example of how information read on the internet can influence decisions about technology, health, and education.
In practice, the city did not end the internet in schools. The connection continued to exist but stopped circulating via wireless signal and started to rely on cables. The measure altered the school infrastructure and placed the fear of invisible waves at the center of the discussion.
Fear of electromagnetic radiation led the wireless network to leave schools
The decision was born out of a concern about possible risks of electromagnetic waves for children. The mayor read information on the internet about the topic and decided to turn off the wireless network in municipal schools.
The most attention-grabbing point is the origin of the decision. The change did not come from a major local scientific review. It came from a concern fueled by online content about electromagnetic radiation.
With this, Borgofranco d’Ivrea became a symbolic case. The city showed how the fear of something invisible can alter a school’s routine and change the way students and teachers access the internet.
Ethernet cables returned to the center of the classroom as a more cautious solution
The solution adopted was to replace the wireless connection with Ethernet cables. This type of connection uses wires connected to equipment, without spreading a signal through the environment as occurs with wireless network routers.
For those who do not understand technical terms, the difference is simple. The wireless network allows internet access without a cable. The Ethernet cable, on the other hand, requires a physical connection between the device and the internet point.
This change can reduce the circulation of the wireless signal within the school but also makes the connection more dependent on wires and fixed points. Therefore, the measure has a direct impact on the digital infrastructure used in classrooms.
International Business Times recorded the decision that put technology and fear in the same debate
International Business Times, an international news portal, recorded that the Italian city turned off the wireless network in municipal schools due to concerns about electromagnetic waves and adopted Ethernet cables as an alternative.
The case became larger than the city itself because it touches on a common doubt among parents, teachers, and public managers. Technology should advance in schools, but many families still have concerns when the subject involves children and invisible exposure.
The decision also raises another important issue. When public authorities use information from the internet to make technical decisions, greater care is needed. Health, education, and school infrastructure require clarity, responsibility, and good explanation for the population.
What are electromagnetic waves and why do they generate so much fear
Electromagnetic waves are forms of energy present in various everyday technologies. They appear in radio, television, cell phones, routers, and other common equipment.
The fear grows because these waves cannot be seen. For many people, what is invisible seems more dangerous, especially when it involves children inside schools.
The word radiation also frightens. In common usage, it is often associated with serious risk. However, the debate about wireless networks in schools requires caution, because not all radiation has the same type of effect.

This type of measure shows how fear can leave the internet and reach the classroom. A concern read online transformed into a physical change in school buildings, with cables replacing the wireless signal.
Decision exposes the difficulty of balancing technology, child health, and public trust
The discussion is not limited to routers. It involves trust in science, public communication, and decisions made in uncertain environments. When the population doesn’t fully understand a risk, fear can grow rapidly.
In schools, this debate becomes even more sensitive. Children are seen as more vulnerable, and any doubt about health usually generates an immediate reaction from parents and authorities.
At the same time, technology is part of modern education. Therefore, decisions about wireless networks, cables, and digital infrastructure need to be explained simply, transparently, and responsibly.
The Italian town that turned off the wireless network in schools due to fear of electromagnetic radiation showed how a local decision can gain global significance. The switch to Ethernet cables resolved the city hall’s immediate concern, but also raised questions about online information and public policies.

FCC: FCC Proposes Streamlining Device Testing Approvals in U.S. Labs, Banning Others Last year the FCC prohibited the recognition of test labs and certification bodies owned or controlled by countries deemed by officials to be a threat to American national security, Inside Towers reported. Since then, the FCC has taken action to withdraw recognition from, or deny recognition to, 23 so-called “Bad Labs” that it says threatened U.S. national security. Now, the Commission has voted to begin a rulemaking proposing to ensure that electronic device test labs and certification bodies in foreign countries are banned from being recognized here unless they’ve signed reciprocity agreements to recognize American test labs and certification bodies. The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking will seek comment on these labs and certification bodies being phased out over two years after any final rules were adopted and implemented.
The FCC has also adopted an Order to create a fast-track priority review process for devices tested in trusted test labs – namely those located in the United States or reciprocal international locations. The Order would also adopt other measures to promote the integrity of the equipment authorization system:

Require the disclosure of the location and number of employees engaged in FCC-recognized testing;

Improve the FCC’s post-market surveillance procedures;

Strengthen enforcement mechanisms; and

Establish confidential reporting channels for industry participants to raise concerns about violations or national security threats.

FCC: Summary on Benton.org FCC Modernizes Satellite Spectrum Sharing Rules to Boost Broadband The Federal Communications Commission voted to modernize its satellite spectrum-sharing rules. This is a major step toward enhancing the satellite broadband experience for millions of Americans by enabling faster speeds, lower costs, and greater reliability. This change could also unlock more than $2 billion in economic benefits for the American people and up to seven-fold more capacity for space-based broadband services. The Report and Order replaces the Equivalent Power Flux Density framework with modern, performance-based GSO protection criteria that take account of the improved spectrum sharing possibilities that modern satellite technology has brought, including through use of adaptive coding and modulation. The new sharing regime builds on the Commission’s time-tested framework for good-faith coordination to allow NGSO and GSO operators to bargain for appropriate interference protections through voluntary, private agreements.

FCC Targets ‘Covered List’ Entities’ Blanket Sec. 214 Authorizations Press Release | Federal Communications Commission The Federal Communications Commission voted to launch a proceeding to block entities on the agency’s Covered List from receiving automatic authorization to provide domestic interstate telecommunications services in America and ask more broadly what other regulatory actions should be considered to further protect our nation’s telecommunications networks from entities that pose an unacceptable national security risk. The FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, pursuant to the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act, publishes the Covered List of communications equipment and services that are deemed to pose an unacceptable national security risk. Additions to the Covered List are made based on recommendations of Executive Branch national security agencies. The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking proposes banning Covered List entities from being granted blanket domestic operating authority under section 214 of the Communications Act of 1934. As you may know Piti Theatre Company, a non-profit touring troupe, is in the process of creating an Art & Ecology Center in Western MA (Charlemont) where we have begun offering low-emf experiences (for example, performances, educational programs, etc.).

There is also the potential of creating low-emf housing (short/medium/long term) on the property.

We have been in the process of raising $90,000, which will allow us to complete the purchase of an adjacent 7-acre parcel with a building site and to begin moving into construction mode. However, we have now learned that the parcel next to this seven-acre building lot will go on sale in June.

FEATURED: INDUSTRY pots and pans The Push for Permitting Reform [][ As you might imagine, this legislation is being vigorously opposed by local governments, who say the new permitting preempts local authority over public right-of-way, zoning, and permitting. They argue that the restriction of using actual costs means they can’t charge enough to pay for the longer-term monitoring and management of granted rights-of-way.
The biggest local objection to the law is that this would severely limit the ability of local officials to regulate the placement, construction, and modification of cell towers. It would finally give cellular companies the ability to place towers in residential areas or near historic sites.
The legislation clearly reads like a wish list for the giant carriers and gives them the freedom to build what they want, where they want. The authors of the bill took a bill intended to make it easier to build grant-funded rural networks and applied it to the whole country. That feels like solving a relatively small rural problem related to speeding up grant construction as a pretext to apply a sledgehammer solution for all construction. The majority of broadband construction happens in cities and suburbs, not in rural America. Some of those places have complicated situations that should not be lumped together with rules aimed at speeding up rural grants.
I’m sure there will be ISPs and carriers that read this who can tell horror stories of why this is needed. But I also know folks who have built a huge number of rural projects where permitting from local governments was not difficult or expensive.
It will be interesting to see if this passes in Congress. There were several broadband-related bills that passed the House last week, and this bill didn’t make it yet. Every member of the House who votes for this is telling the local governments in their district that Congress knows more about permitting than the local folks who have been doing this forever. In Surrey, a preapplication for a telecoms mast was thwarted by local residents, including councillors, who are concerned about the health effects of 5G cell towers on the health of nearby residents. Plans for the 24-metre phone mast near a children’s playground have caused concern for residents in Caterham Valley. Cornerstone Telecommunications sent out a notification letter in January, with details of the proposed positioning of the mast next to the playground. The letter was intended to “provide information” as Cornerstone intends “to submit a prior approval application to the Local Planning Authority”. Local residents formed a protest group to fight the mast’s installation, which has been successful. Another concern was the cumulative effects that the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) emitted by the phone mast could have on residents with active implantable medical devices. The local group looked into other cases where proposed site applications were challenged, including the successful 2-year battle with Cheltenham Borough Council to overturn plans for a 5G mast. Referring to the “mechanism/proof” question:
“We don’t know how plants know to grow up against gravity, but we know that they do.”

We could have shifted the scientific dialogue, over six decades ago to “We don’t know the exact mechanism for how non-ionizing radiation causes non-thermal effects, but we know that it does.” Imagine where we could be now.

I remember in the early days of smart meter injuries that some patients were receiving calcium channel blockers from their health care providers. I knew nothing about them at the time. I constantly find new reasons to be concerned about EMF/RF. For example, an article like this from Nature.: Brain-penetrant calcium channel blockers are associated with a reduced incidence of neuropsychiatric disorders and its implications. (There is controversy regarding this protocol)

Why would a utility customer need a medication that is used to treat violent criminals? Does calcium in the wrong configuration outside cells contribute to (preventable) aggression?

A friend of a friend just buried her son Mason. He was devastated by the break-up and subsequent treatment from his former girlfriend and violently ended his own life. As a court case is likely, the intolerance/violence/hatred inherent in the email messages he received is being unearthed.

While tremendous focus is being placed on age-gating access to social media to protect youth (which serves the dual purpose of blanket citizen surveillance) what if a mechanism of violence is in the calcium channels, and the system of delivery is ubiquitous wireless devices and infrastructure itself?

How many consumers know that calcium channel blockers are used to treat the most violent patients? Or that wireless exposures are causing harm to the blood-brain barrier? Or the action of the ion-gated channels in the cell walls?

Aaron Pilarcik’s work with plants makes me want to trust science ( but maybe only biophysicists and not the physicists?)

Through its Wireless & Wildlife program, EHT has frequently led the way in championing peer-reviewed studies that established a connection between mobile phone base stations and damage to nearby trees and plants. (e.g. Waldmann-Selsam or Trung Tran).

In its recent petition to the federal court regarding the FCC’s failure to update its 30-year-old safety guidelines, EHT provided ample evidence to the court showing the scientific research on the impact of electromagnetic and radiofrequency radiation on trees and plants. The effect of EMFs on the natural world was also made starkly obvious during MIT researcher Aaron Pilarcik’s presentation at EHT’s Fourth Expert Forum on the Public Health and Environmental Impacts of Cellular Wireless Radiation Exposure held at Yale University. That event resulted in the publication of a special issue of Frontiers in Public Health, which featured a deeply researched piece on the interactions of flora and fauna with natural and manmade EMFs at the ecosystem level. We wanted to share his presentation with you exclusively here on Earth Day.

Learning About Channelopathy from Bi-Polar Researcher Dr. William Walsh, with Dr. Courtney Snyder

I have written repeatedly about the implications for electromagnetic poisoning of the genetic research of Dr. William Walsh on bi-polar illness. Holistic adult and child psychologist Dr. Courtney Snyder has posted several times about his work and his nutrition protocols which seem to have overlap significantly with nutritional approaches to autism - which is a neurological condition.

In January of 2025, Dr. Courtney Snyder M.D. published: Breakthrough Theory of Bipolar Disorder Dr. William Walsh’s Comprehensive Theory (Explaining the Cause of Bipolar, the Reason For Switching From Mania to Depression & Treatment Implications) Shared at the Society of Neuroscience 18-minute audio and post

2021 Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) These studies compared the genomes of about 5,000 individuals with bipolar disorder and about 8,000 (controls/individuals without bipolar disorder). Over time, more and more “bipolar” genetic variants have been identified. By 2021, there were 64; however, there are expected to be hundreds.

Of these 64 genetic variants, 49 are DNA repair genes and antioxidant genes that occur throughout the body (not just the brain). Just as it sounds, DNA repair genes make enzymes that repair DNA. Antioxidant genes make enzymes that support our protective antioxidant systems. Many of these genetic variants are also associated with cancer and other conditions impacted by DNA damage. This would suggest that those with bipolar disorder come into the world with a vulnerability in their ability to repair DNA damage (which translates to cell damage, tissue damage, and, in the case of the brain, neuronal damage.

Numerous studies have found high levels of superoxide, hydroxyl, and ONNO (peroxynitrite) free radicals in those with bipolar disorder. {} But What About the Other 15 Genes?

Genetic Weakness on Ion Channels The remaining identified genes are more specific to bipolar disorder and relate to ion channel genes. Ion channels exist on the neuronal membranes, allowing potassium, sodium, and calcium to move in and out of the nerve cell. This movement creates an electrical charge that travels down the cell, releasing a neurotransmitter into the space between that neuron and other neurons to communicate with the next cell(s).

Onset Here again, an epigenetic event (toxic exposure, trauma, significant illness, etc.) leading to oxidative overload impacts the production of the proteins used in these channels, which affects the movement of ions in and out of the cell (more specifically causing flooding of potassium ions (K+) outside the cell) leading to hyperactivity of that nerve. This is why Dr. Walsh’s theory considers bipolar disorder a channelopathy.” - Dr. Courtney Snyder

What the historical narrative suggests is that something as mundane as a utility meter changeout is the epigenetic event destroying lives.

Dr. William Walsh and the Walsh Research Institute which studied nutrient levels in blood, urine and hair samples of 30,000 individuals with psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism and dementia. In my experience, those reporting EMR-S or EHS who are fortunate to find their way to nutritional guidance with EMF-literate practitioners have some relief. In fact, the wave of electrical poisoning injuries has brought many of these issues into prominence, including methylation, with significant cross-over in the autism community.

But that does not absolve the role of the unnatural EMF exposures which, along with harm to the blood-brain barrier, are linked with damage to the gut and microbiome. Had there been less attention to denial of wireless and electromagnetic poisoning, the genomes of 5,000 individuals with electromagnetic poisoning could have already been examined.

Environmental expert Dr. Beatice Golomb surveyed a much smaller patient population and listened to what they said. When she asked what had changed, relative to their environment, when they became sick, the most cited variable was the installation of the “smart” meter.

Why One Diagnosis Isn’t Always Associated With One Imbalance

• Psychiatric conditions appear to have various causes. If someone comes to me with a diagnosis of depression, for example, that only tells me what type of symptoms they likely have. It doesn’t tell me if those symptoms are related to high copper, a methylation imbalance, elevated pyrroles, candida, a misaligned upper cervical spine , mast cell activation, mold toxicity, metal toxicity, hormone imbalances or a combination of any of these…….or something else.

• The Walsh Research Institute has looked at the methylation status of 30,000 over 40 year and found that 70% of those with mental illness exhibit a methylation imbalance (undermethylation and overmethylation). This is relative to the general population, in which 30% had a methylation imbalance.

What would these numbers have looked like in the cohort of those reporting electromagnetic poisoning?

How many of all of these patients would improve it the dynamic between their light environment and exposure to EMF/RF were addressed?

Are we looking at a population that is revealing an underlying cause for what usually translates into a preventable, symptom-based diagnosis of a mental illness?

The work that Dr. Walsh has conducted regarding different underlying nutritional issues can also explain why different individuals may experience different symptoms as the direct result of the installation of a cell tower or a smart meter.

We have the intellectual capability to hold the complexity that differing constitutions have different vulnerabilities and to not reject reports of harm due to diversity.

For a few years, I treasured my job at a local bio-dynamic farm, with chickens, goats, turkeys, guinea hens, dogs, a donkey, and the barn cats. The farmer produced her own organic soap, teas, and herbal products. I helped create and care for her 40-bed garden plot where we grew medicinal herbs and flowers. We used 3 guides:

Used carefully, wisely, and with respect, this knowledge will help you discover a new, friendlier world. I share this knowledge with the hope that it will be used to improve all of our lives."

• The spirit of the chamomile. We grew chamomile from, seed, planted according to the rules for flowers. But we got behind schedule with weather and other tasks. My farmer boss asked me to transplant some chamomile, on a day that broke all the rules. I watched the dramatic difference between the two plantings all summer. In the end, they seemingly caught up. But is there a difference in the medicinal quality of the stressed plants, or their progeny? I also had another experience of attempting to muck the barn for 27 goats on a full moon in Pisces. Never Again. When subservient workers took over jobs and time was commoditized as if it is a static variable, the direct line of wisdom was severed, and it is the task of these generations to bring it back. Time is energy. (These kinds of hands-on experiments by Aaron could fill the minds of a new generation of children.)

As I cared for the chamomile, “precision agriculture” has been becoming the rage, with wireless sensors in the fields transmitting data to satellites to reach the farmer’s computer to tell him about the hydration level of the soil. This is being promoted as water conservation and progress.

1. Biophysical effect of polarized/coherent EMFs on voltage gated ion channels (VGIC)

Panagopoulos had already proposed the mechanism of forced ion oscillation in 2000, which has been refined several times in the meantime by new publications. The basic idea is to calculate the forces needed to activate the voltage sensor of a VGIC. The typical membrane potentials present here are known from (neuro-)biology, which are created by different ion concentrations on both sides of a cell membrane. Various other researchers have tried to calculate the forces of an anthropogenic EMF at the VGIC, either assuming that ions or water molecules in the channel are excited to vibrate. Panagopoulos proposes a different dynamic, namely that ions in the immediate vicinity of the (external) voltage sensor of the channel are stimulated to “resonate” by an external EMF and calculates the force and EMF characteristics that should be sufficient to activate a VGIC. The mechanism is based on molecular and physical data, taking into account the forces exerted by an applied polarized oscillating EMF on mobile ions in the vicinity of the voltage sensors of the VGICs. The oscillating field forces the moving ions to oscillate on parallel planes and in phase with the EMF.

Most cation channels (including Ca2+, K+, Na+ and H+) in the membranes of all animal cells are voltage-controlled. These ion channels alternate between open and closed states, which is known as “gating”. Polarized/coherent EMFs in the low-frequency ELF band, even at very low field strengths, cause irregular gating of electrosensitive ion channels or VGICs through forced ion oscillation, leading to a disturbance of the electrochemical balance of the cell. This mechanism explains the biological effects of the vast majority of human-induced (polarized and coherent) EMFs – since all technically used RF EMFs are pulsed and/or modulated in the ELF band, or at least have ELF components in their signal.

“Taking” From Nature vs. Working WITH and not against the Frequencies of Light

On April 28, industry commentator Doug Dawson published Technology Shorts April 2026 | POTs and PANs. One item was:

Dirt-Powered Fuel Cells. A team at Northwestern University has developed a device that can generate electricity by harvesting the power created by microbes that naturally reside in the soil and naturally break down organic matter. The fuel cell is about the size of a paperback book. The device has a disc-shaped anode that is buried in the soil with a second anode poking out near the surface. The device is large enough to tap the natural moisture in the soil at the bottom of the device. In testing, the device works across various soil conditions. The devices tested so far are creating 68 times more power than needed to operate the fuel cell, meaning there is a lot of power available to power other devices like agricultural sensors. The beauty of the technology is that it should work for many years without any need to replace batteries or other components like is needed for other power sources that could be used for similar applications. A fuel cell should work as long as there is enough carbon and moisture to fuel the natural microbes there.

It’s part of the SpaceX business model: Old obsolete satellites re-enter to make way for newer models. This may sound like a good way to keep Earth orbit from becoming too cluttered, but it comes with a cost. Every Starlink that burns up dumps about 30 kg of aluminum oxide into the upper atmosphere.

That aluminum is not supposed to be there.

How radiation from cell phones, Wi-Fi and 5G affects the cells’ “operating system”

Modern electromagnetic fields (EMFs) from cell phones, Wi-Fi, and 5G are not just a kind of “background noise” in our environment. The fields directly disrupt the information processing of cells, triggering a double threat: they disrupt the “read signals” of the cells and also impose defective “write commands” on them. The result is oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and tissue damage over time.

These mechanisms are called “bioelectric dissonance” and have been described in a number of scientific studies that demonstrate precisely these effects. Cells function as probabilistic computers [they work based on probabilities, as opposed to deterministic machines that are almost mechanical]. Cells use ultra-weak emissions of photons [“light particles”] and bioelectric gradients [voltage differences] from mitochondria to “read” their environment. And DNA functions as a neural network at the atomic level. The “writing” follows with the help of tailored calcium influxes (Ca²⁺ currents), which then initiate repair, cleavage or aging. Modern pulsating EMFs – the low-frequency envelope curves [explained in ] from mobile communications – act like jamming in a silent library. The EMFs increase the entropic noise [here: the natural, weak EMF background noise everywhere in the environment] while hacking the voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCC). Geneticist and basic medicine physician Martin L. Pall described this mechanism in detail already in 2013 : EMFs activate the voltage sensors of the VGCCs, which leads to massive Ca²⁺ influx, production of nitric oxide and formation of peroxynitrite – the direct trigger of oxidative stress. 23 studies confirm that calcium channel blockers block these effects or greatly reduce them. The “ion forced oscillation” hypothesis describes precisely this central hacking mechanism: The cells interpret the unnatural calcium storm as an emergency and increase the production of ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species). Mitochondria are damaged, antioxidant levels decrease, and inflammation and DNA damage follow.

Studies show clear correlation

A 2016 review article (Dasdag et al.) reviewed dozens of in vitro and in vivo studies and concluded: Cellular and WiFi radiation have been shown to cause oxidative stress. Georgiou et al. (2021) demonstrated that EMFs specifically generate ROS via NADPH oxidase [an enzyme in the cell membrane] and VGCCs, thereby promoting disorders associated with oxidative stress.

Sperm and brain cells are particularly susceptible to such effects. documented increased ROS production by EMF exposure during spermatogenesis [the formation of sperm cells], reduced antioxidant activity, and damage to mitochondria.

Panagopoulos (2021) has summarized it as follows: Man-made EMFs lead via dysfunction of the VGCCs, oxidative stress and DNA damage to the biological effects we now know from these.

Studies specifically on local wireless networks [WLAN/WiFi] also confirm this picture: Increased ROS, disruption of mitochondrial permeability and cell damage after just a few hours of exposure (Biomedicines 2023).

Cells have a kind of operating system that is operated optoelectronically [by photons]. EMFs disrupt the “read phase” with their noise and the “write phase” with erroneous commands that lead to calcium influx. This is not just theory – it exactly matches Pall’s descriptions of VGCC mechanisms and of the ROS effects and it has been demonstrated in hundreds of studies.

In physiology and cell biology, “calcium channels” are the name given to channels in the cell membrane that are more or less specialized so that calcium ions (Ca ²⁺ ) can pass through when they open. A distinction is made between voltage-gated and ligand-gated calcium channels. Therapeutically, the voltage-gated L-type and T-type channels are of particular interest. A study at the University of Zurich has also addressed this and demonstrated that via these mechanisms, 5G signals are capable of causing sleep disturbances.

Changes in calcium concentration inside cells are crucial for many physiological processes. They cause electromechanical coupling during muscle contraction, lead to the synthesis and secretion of neurotransmitters [signaling substances secreted by nerve cells] and hormones, regulate gene expression [that the cell ensures that the instructions contained in the DNA are followed] and control enzyme activities. The main part of the calcium that flows into the cells enters via voltage-gated calcium channels. The stimulus that opens them is depolarization of the cell membrane [that the voltage difference between the inside and the outside is reduced]. STATE REGULATION: Virginia Joins Trend to Reduce Local Control of Wireless Permitting

The Commonwealth of Virginia legislature passed a bill, HB277, which prohibits a locality from denying an application for the modification of an existing wireless facility if the modification would not substantially change the physical dimensions of the existing wireless facility. Local control is also preempted for co-locations of new transmission equipment, the removal of transmission equipment and the replacement of transmission equipment.
“The wireless industry has actively pursued state legislation enacted to constrain the broad authority of local governments over the deployment of wireless small cell equipment in public right-of-way,” according to the National Law Review.
The law allows for the excavation or deployment of equipment within 30 feet of an existing structure without triggering the permit process. Additionally, a 60-day shot clock for local approval was implemented.

FEDERAL PERMITTING: BENTON House Advances Broadband Legislation Next Steps for These Bills ( NOT YET POSTED ONLINE) GO TO | Benton Institute for Broadband & Society AND READ WEEKLY NEWS

The first five of these bills now head to the Senate for a vote. There is a companion bill to the Emergency Reporting Act—The Enhancing First Response Act (S.725) was passed by the Senate in September 2025, and sits in the House. S.725 included the provisions in the Emergency Reporting Act as well as further provisions around emergency communications, some of which were also passed separately by the House this April in the Kari’s Law Reporting Act (H.R. 5201). H.R. 5201 would require the FCC to publish a report on the enforcement of Kari’s Law, which allows telephone users to dial 9-1-1 directly from any phone without dialing any additional code or prefix. As for the Rural Broadband Protection Act, it awaits signing.

Federal Broadband Deployment Tracking Act The Federal Broadband Deployment Tracking Act (H.R.1343), introduced by Reps. August Pfluger (R-TX) and Darren Soto (D-FL), aims to improve broadband deployment transparency. Specifically, the bill would require the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to submit—within 180 days of the bill’s enactment—a comprehensive plan to Congress detailing how the agency will track the acceptance, processing, and disposal of broadband permitting applications on federal lands. These permitting applications are essential for accessing easements and rights-of-way to build or maintain telecommunications infrastructure. The NTIA will also detail how it will quickly implement its plan and any potential barriers it could face. H.R. 1343 has now been referred to the Senate Commerce Committee, chaired by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).

Expediting Federal Broadband Deployment Reviews Act The Expediting Federal Broadband Deployment Reviews Act (H.R. 1681) is aimed at improving access to high-speed internet in rural and underserved communities, especially in states with large amounts of federal land. H.R. 1681—introduced by Reps. Angie Craig (D-MN) and Gabe Evans (R-CO)—streamlines the permitting process for broadband projects on federally-managed lands by directing the NTIA to lead an interagency strike force with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the Department of the Interior to improve coordination, set review goals, and hold agencies accountable. H.R. 1681 has also been referred to the Senate Commerce Committee.

Emergency Reporting Act The Emergency Reporting Act (H.R. 5200), introduced by Rep. Doris Matsui (D-CA) and cosponsored by Reps. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and Nanette Diaz Barragán (D-CA), directs the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to issue reports after activation of the Disaster Information Reporting System (DIRS) and to make improvements to network outage reporting. The Emergency Reporting Act has been placed on the Senate Legislative Calendar and is awaiting Senate floor consideration.

Mystic Alerts Act The Mystic Alerts Act (H.R. 7022) provides for wireless emergency alerts to be transmitted to mobile devices via satellite. This bill was introduced by Reps. Pfluger, Lizzie Fletcher (D-TX), Buddy Carter (R-GA), and Marc Veasey (D-TX). The goal of this bill is to integrate satellite networks into the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system, which warns the public about dangerous weather, missing children, and other critical situations via cell phones and other mobile devices. Currently, wireless emergency alerts are sent via terrestrial mobile networks to individual devices in geographically targeted areas. Wireless internet service providers are not required to participate; only devices connected to a participating service provider’s network receive alerts. The Mystic Alerts Act has been referred to the Senate Commerce Committee

First Responder Network Authority Reauthorization Act of 2026 H.R. 7386 has been referred to the Senate Commerce Committee. The Rural Broadband Protection Act The Rural Broadband Protection Act of 2025 (S. 98) passed the House after originating in the Senate and advancing there. The bill was sponsored by Sens. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), John Curtis (R-UT), Gary Peters (D-MI), and Rev. Raphael Warnock (D-GA). Having passed both chambers, this bill is awaiting the President’s signature before becoming law.

Protests in communities across the United States against unfettered 5G deployment have prompted the House of Representatives to delay consideration of a bill that would override all local agencies.
These protests are in addition to all the protests against imposed AMS meters that have long been taking place throughout the United States.
The health effects of highly pulsed microwaves in particular are a hot topic. A new research study from the International Commission on the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields (ICBE-EMF) reveals that current limits for wireless radiation do not provide meaningful public health protection against them. The study is fueling a pushback from communities in eight US states.

Carter ‘Confident’ House Will Resurrect American Broadband Deployment Act This Congress

On April 22, 2026 Communications Daily ran an article on H.R. 2289 with the headline” Carter ‘Confident’ House Will Resurrect American Broadband Deployment Act This Congress” stating that Rep. Buddy Carter, “lead sponsor of the American Broadband Deployment Act (HR-2289), told us Monday night he’s “confident” that House leaders will eventually bring the bill back to the floor before this Congress ends, despite their decision to pull it earlier that day once it became clear that not enough Republicans supported its passage.”

Update: H.R. 2289- The Cell Tower Fast-Track Bill Stalled – but Not Stopped

The Congressional bill that would fast-track cell towers in front of homes by stripping local government authority was swiftly advancing to a full House vote, but it hit a temporary pause.

H.R. 2289, the American Broadband Deployment Act, has been placed on the House Union Calendar (No. 532), meaning it cleared committee and is headed to the full House floor. The House Rules Committee was initially set to meet on April 20 at 4 PM to set debate rules, but it was abruptly postponed midday, likely due to the massive opposition by the majority of local governments in the country!

H.R. 2289 Stalled—But Not Stopped. Could Return Within Days

However, once they reschedule it, the bill can move quickly to a final vote. If it passes, it goes to the Senate. Further, the FCC is likely to move forward on its cell tower fast-track proposal, which will likely include many of the same provisions to override local government authority.

On April 22, 2026 Communications Daily ran an article on the Bill with the headline” Carter ‘Confident’ House Will Resurrect American Broadband Deployment Act This Congress” stating that Rep. Buddy Carter, “lead sponsor of the American Broadband Deployment Act (HR-2289), told us Monday night he’s “confident” that House leaders will eventually bring the bill back to the floor before this Congress ends, despite their decision to pull it earlier that day once it became clear that not enough Republicans supported its passage.”

Even if H.R. 2289 is not resurrected, the FCC’s cell tower fast-track proposal is poised to move forward.

Yet the FCC, with just three commissioners, is poised to push forward a nearly identical agenda to pre-empt local city, state, and town authority, without congressional approval. That should alarm every American,” stated Theodora Scarato, Director of the Wireless and EMF Program at Environmental Health Sciences.

This is only a temporary pause—not a victory.

We are still at a critical moment.

Both the FCC NPRM 25-276 and Congressional Bill H.R. 2289 would fast-track cell towers near homes in neighborhoods nationwide, overriding local control and stripping cities and towns of their ability to enforce basic safeguards like setbacks, safety review, and community input. The Congressional bill would additionally expand federal preemption regarding RF-related health effects.

The House and Senate need to be educated on the issue.

The FCC can issue its cell tower regulations at any time. The Congressional bill can return at any time, even as soon as next week, and industry lobbyists are already working behind the scenes to line up the votes to push it through. We are up against some of the most powerful corporations in the country. Companies like Apple, Samsung, and major wireless carriers such as T-Mobile, are represented by the CTIA- wireless industry association, which is pushing hard for this legislation and for the FCC rulemaking to be completed.

Note: The CTIA Wireless Association is now headed by Ajit Pai, a former FCC Chairman. Pai succeeded Meredith Attwell Baker, also a former FCC Commissioner. This revolving door between industry and government regulators is how we arrived at the current situation. More on this can be found in a landmark publication in Frontiers in Public Health entitled “U.S. Policy on Wireless Technologies and Public Health Protection: Regulatory Gaps and Proposed Reforms” by Theodora Scarato, MSW, Director of the Wireless and EMF Program at Environmental Health Sciences. The article examines regulatory capture at the FCC, building on the documentation of industry influence in a 2015 Harvard Report, “Captured Agency.”

Cell Phone and Wireless Companies Are Lobbying for an Immediate Vote on H.R. 2289

On April 13, major telecom and infrastructure groups, including CTIA – The Wireless Association (representing companies such as Apple, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile), sent a letter to House leadership urging them to bring H.R. 2289 to the floor immediately, “because it directly supports America’s position in the global AI race.”

Organizations Serving Over 80% of the U.S. Population State That H.R. 2289 Would Undermine Public Safety

On April 16, 2026, the National Association of Counties (NACo), the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM), the National League of Cities, and the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) wrote a letter to House leadership stating that H.R. 2289 “would undermine public safety, force local taxpayers to subsidize private corporations and disrupt the very broadband deployment progress it aims to accelerate.”

“H.R. 2289 creates a framework that prioritizes communication companies’ shareholder value at the expense of the safety and financial interests of the communities and the taxpayers they serve. Furthermore, by limiting cost-recovery mechanisms for application reviews, the bill effectively forces local taxpayers to subsidize private providers’ administrative expenses – a cost that falls entirely on the public.”

“ H.R. 2289 as written, would sacrifice local autonomy, impose unfunded mandates, and disrupt deployment progress already underway.”

The National Association of Counties (NACo), representing counties serving more than 80 percent of the nation’s population, states that “the preemption of local permitting authority will not lead to the expedited build-out of broadband infrastructure, but instead jeopardize the safety of the public.”

A Fierce Network article entitled “Is permitting reform streamlining or steamrolling?” quoted Mike Lynch, legal and regulatory affairs director with the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA), as stating that “H.R. 2289 is an unprecedented and dangerous usurpation of local governments’ authority to manage public rights-of-way and land use. It’s a giveaway to the industry.”

The House Rules Committee meeting on H.R. 2289, the Bill that would fast-track cell towers, HAS BEEN POSTPONED!

Why? Because it did not have the votes! At least not yet.

This is a common tactic in Congress. When leadership doesn’t have the votes, they halt the process, work behind the scenes to secure support, and bring it back quickly.

The bill faced strong opposition from major organizations representing local governments, along with a growing groundswell of grassroots action by numerous environmental and health-based organizations across the country.

An article by Wireless Estimator calls H.R 2289 is a “Game Changer” due to the dramatic impact it would have on cell tower and wireless deployment. This bill started as a one-page proposal to exempt specific projects from federal environmental and historic review requirements, but it was expanded massively through various committee amendments into a roughly 100-page omnibus bill incorporating more than 20 separate permitting and preemption provisions affecting wireless siting, wireline broadband deployment, cable franchising, and federal review processes.

On April 13, major telecom and infrastructure groups, including CTIA - The Wireless Association (representing companies such as Apple, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile), sent a letter to House leadership urging them to bring H.R. 2289 to the floor immediately, “because it directly supports America’s position in the global AI race.”

Organizations Serving Over 80% of the U.S. Population State That H.R. 2289 Would Undermine Public Safety

On April 16, 2026, the National Association of Counties (NACo), the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM), the National League of Cities, and the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) wrote a letter to House leadership stating that H.R. 2289 “would undermine public safety, force local taxpayers to subsidize private corporations and disrupt the very broadband deployment progress it aims to accelerate.”

“H.R. 2289 creates a framework that prioritizes communication companies’ shareholder value at the expense of the safety and financial interests of the communities and the taxpayers they serve. Furthermore, by limiting cost-recovery mechanisms for application reviews, the bill effectively forces local taxpayers to subsidize private providers’ administrative expenses – a cost that falls entirely on the public.”

“ H.R. 2289 as written, would sacrifice local autonomy, impose unfunded mandates, and disrupt deployment progress already underway.”

The National Association of Counties (NACo), representing counties serving more than 80 percent of the nation’s population, states that “the preemption of local permitting authority will not lead to the expedited build-out of broadband infrastructure, but instead jeopardize the safety of the public.”

I can’t verify as of press time that it is the same UL that certifies smart meters that FCC rejected (UL) for AI’s “good housekeeping seal of approval” insane labeling but it sure smells like it.

A few friends and I have noticed there are no dandelions so far this year, I am grateful that I saw one today - a kindred maligned spirit.

But here’s the thing: humans are also a species out of context. Many elements of our present-day existence are not part of our evolutionary history either—having only been around for the last 10,000 years (or even 10, in some cases). And guess what: we’re being totally dumb about it! Yeah: we’re blowing it. We can’t handle the truth. We’ve initiated a sixth mass extinction (6ME), and it’s quite hard to come up with an example of animal dumbness any more profound and consequential than this. I mean, really: a wasp bouncing against a window isn’t anywhere near the same league of “dumb” as a species initiating a sixth mass extinction in an evolutionary blink.

LIFESTYLE: POLITICO When scrolling becomes a public nuisance Initial wins against Big Tech in recent social media addiction trials are a promising sign for those who argue online platforms are harmful. The next big test is whether they can be considered a public nuisance.
After successfully convincing a jury that Meta violated product liability laws by endangering kids and misleading the public about the safety of its platforms in March, New Mexico will enter the second phase of its trial next month, in which a judge will hear the state’s nuisance claims. Additionally, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court refused to throw out a nuisance case against Meta last week.
The term “public nuisance” might make you think of annoyingly loud music or leaf blowers at dawn. But in recent decades, courts have considered applying the concept to things like greenhouse gases and guns. Attorneys general and school districts are now trying to expand the definition to include social media.
The advantage of portraying platforms as nuisances is that it allows courts to examine their potential impacts on society at large — in the same way you might try to mitigate threats to public health. Yet the argument faces a different set of legal hurdles from the product liability claims, and it’s unclear if judges and juries will be open to more creative interpretations of what constitutes a nuisance

Its maximum distance from Earth is 14% farther than its minimum. Of the nine lunar flights in the Apollo program, Apollo 13 snagged the record simply because the moon happened to be far away at the time (at apogee; Apollo 10 and 15 were comparably far). In fact, the moon only ever gets about 0.5% farther than it was at the time of Apollo 13—and not on every orbit. []Anyway, it’s all a bunch of silliness starved of context. It’s bad enough that the entire enterprise is delusional and misguided. They have to go and make something that’s already stupid silly to boot.
