From Katie Singer: If you could influence our society, what would you do? "When I moaned to a friend (who once believed in solar photo voltaics (PVs) and now questions them) about letters to my newspaper claiming that solar PVs emit no carbon and give “energy independence” while my county, state and federal government grant billions for more panels and more batteries, my friend asked, “If you could influence our society, what would you do?”" https://katiesinger.substack.com/p/what-would-you-do

5G/EMF/RF: UK EECC Challenge Escalated to Judicial Review (Karen Churchill w/ Patricia Burke) “Blindly following policy is not enough to prevent avoidable harm. Neil McDougall and Karen Churchill have capitalized on a unique opportunity to demand the UK government introduce proper 5G risk assessments, beyond councils solely applying ICNIRP exposure guidelines, by utilizing the law which safeguards rights as the UK exits from the European Union. This is bound by a December 31, 2023 deadline.

NRDC Report The Energy Impacts of Smart Speakers and Video Streaming Devices linking smart speakers to a television can cause its standby power and overall annual energy use to skyrocket. This spike in energy consumption, which could exceed $1 billion annually, could be easily avoided if all TV models were designed to sleep at less than 1 or 2 watts when connected to a smart speaker, which some manufacturers already do. Mobile Phones Now Banned in Schools Across Australia: "Mobile phones in Australian schools are now banned under federal law in a policy announced by Minister for Education Jason Clare today. In July, Mr. Clare said the time had come for a national policy on phones in state schools. The policy creates uniformity with state education stakeholders, many of whom had some sort of policy already in place in their territories." https://www.theepochtimes.com/world/mobile-phones-now-banned-in-schools-across-australia-5570740 See also; Russia and Sweden Banning Cell Phones in Schools: https://ehtrust.org/russia-and-sweden-banning-cell-phones-in-school/
Softlights Has Filed a Lawsuit Against the FDA Regarding LED Lighting: Plaintiff, Mark Baker, alleges that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has failed to comply with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) and subsequent Radiation Control for Health and Safety Act, codified as 21 U.S.C. 360hh – 360ss, which mandates that the FDA minimize the emissions of and the exposure of people to, unnecessary electronic product radiation, publish performance standards for electromagnetic radiation from electronic products, and provide reports to Congress. Specifically, this complaint alleges that the FDA has failed to protect public health and safety from the harms of visible radiation from products using Light Emitting Diodes (LED) and that the failure of the FDA to publish performance standards for LED products has caused Plaintiff irreparable harm. Plaintiff requests that the Court order coercive relief. https://www.softlights.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Mark-Baker-vs.-FDA_filed.pdf

Early Exposure to Screens May Alter Sensory Reactions – courtesy Sharon
There are so many studies showing the harmful effects that young children suffer if exposed to lots of "screen time", ranging from delayed verbal development to hyperactivity (and perhaps autism). These are in addition to the biological effects from exposure to wireless radiation. Many kids will experience so many problems as they mature -- and parents are told they are giving their children a head-start by giving them "smart"phones, etc even while they are in diapers (also with wireless tabs).
"It’s probably of little surprise that exposure to digital media can affect emotional processing. However, new research reveals that it may also shape how children’s senses develop. A new study links heavy media use starting as young as a year old with atypical sensory processing down the road. That means that how kids take in stimuli through their sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch can lead to deficits or hypersensitivities....The new findings, published in January in JAMA Pediatrics, add atypical sensory processing to the list of problems already linked to too much screen time, including delayed language development, slow thinking skills, and disrupted behavior and sleep....On a positive note, replacing screen time with social activities appeared to mitigate sensory development issues, according to the authors. Effects of Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields: Thirty years of research (saferemr/com)
The preponderance of peer-reviewed research published from 1990 through January 2024 has found significant adverse effects from exposure to radio frequency radiation and extremely low frequency and static electromagnetic fields. Dr. Henry Lai, Professor Emeritus at the University of Washington, Editor Emeritus of the journal, Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine, and an emeritus member of the International Commission on the Biological Effects of EMF, has compiled summaries of the research on the biological effects of exposure to radio frequency (RFR) and extremely low frequency (ELF) and static electromagnetic fields (EMF). His set of abstracts which covers the period from 1990 to January 2024 constitutes a comprehensive collection of the peer-reviewed research.
Dr. Lai reports that the preponderance of research has found that exposure to RFR or ELF EMF produces oxidative effects or free radicals, and damages DNA. Moreover the preponderance of studies that examined genetic, neurological and reproductive outcomes has found significant effects: 79% of more than 1,500 studies of RFR, and 87% of more than 900 studies of ELF and static fields reported significant effects.
The collection contains about 2,500 studies. The abstracts for these studies can be downloaded by clicking on the links at https://www.saferemr.com/2018/02/effects-of-exposure-to-electromagnetic.html
In 2011, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization classified radio frequency radiation “possibly carcinogenic to humans” (Group 2B). The IARC had planned to review RFR again by 2024 because most peer-reviewed studies published in the past decade found significant evidence that RFR causes genotoxicity; however this review has been postponed. IARC is likely re-classify RFR to either "probably carcinogenic to humans" (Group 2A) or "carcinogenic to humans" (Group 1) if IARC convenes EMF experts who have no conflicts of interest.
Cell phones and other wireless devices also produce static and extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic fields. ELF was classified by the IARC as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” (Group 2B) a decade before RFR received this classification. Industry Article:
Wireless to Fiber: “Many wireless ISPs have extolled the benefits of building wireless networks as the first step to eventually build fiber networks. For over a decade, I’ve been a big proponent of this business plan and have worked with many rural ISPs who entered new rural markets with wireless with the hope of eventually building fiber in the same areas. The business plan makes a lot of sense - get paying customers and pocket revenues to eventually fund the upgrade. ISPs with this business plan typically have built as much fiber as they could up front, such as building fiber to each wireless tower to extend fiber deep into the network. Many of the ISPs that have adopted this business plan have already started making the transition to fiber. Many of them have taken advantage of state and federal grants to accelerate the process.” https://potsandpansbyccg.com/2024/01/19/wireless-to-fiber/

From MSN re the Consumer Electronics Show The environmental impact “Worst in Show” went to one of many internet-connected food tech appliances showcased at CES 2024. Revolution Cooking's $1,800 “macrowave” combines a microwave with a convection oven but such trendy gadgets are typically short-lived and encourage people to trash the simpler appliances they already have, according to Shanika Whitehurst of Consumer Reports.“Adding electronics to perfectly functional appliances dramatically increases their environmental impact, requiring vast amounts of resources and energy,” she wrote. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/here-are-the-worst-in-show-ces-products-according-to-consumer-and-privacy-advocates/ar-AA1mOR7z
